Right now it’s just Samsung and T-Mobile all by their lonesome and still no ETA on when the update will begin rolling out. Now use your volume keys and move to Wipe Cache Partition. Now you will see the Recovery mode of S6. NexusOS 9.0 for Samsung Galaxy S6, ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Contributors lukasb06, corewell, RakuDEV, J0SH1X, MyNameIsMohamad, ivanmeler.
Press and hold the Volume Up, Home, and Power Button till your Android figure is on your phone’s screen. 3.2.2) Download the latest files from Mega. There’s still no word if other carriers will follow suit. First, you need to turn off your Galaxy S6. Keep in mind the Galaxy S6 lineup is over 3 years old and while it’s extremely rare to see something so old receive a major software update, these devices will likely remain on Android 8.0 Oreo for their rest of their lives (with the exception of security updates). T-Mobile’s support page for the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, and Note 5 show the device manufacturer and carrier agreeing to support a new software update for the aforementioned devices with a “Phase: Complete: Version 8.0 Oreo” status. Anything older than that is usually a toss up, so it was fairly surprising to hear that the Galaxy S6 lineup and Galaxy Note 5 will be with receiving Android 8.0 Oreo on T-Mobile.
However, like I said, I'd love to know all of my options, whether i prefer them or not.Big-name manufacturers typically support their flagship devices with 2 years of major firmware updates making it a given that Samsung’s current and previous flagship devices will see updates to Android Oreo. I dont want to do anything where I have to come out of pocket for AT&T/Samsung/Androids freaking fault. If that is the only option though, i'd like to know. AT&T locker is on hiatus and have not found a way to back my stuff up otherwise for free. Neither here nor there, is there any way to, for lack of a better term, uninstall and delete? I do not want to have to do a system restore or anything of the sort that involves wiping memory, as it was the holidays and I have pics and videos of my son's activities. Memory could've been an issue, as I have an active thread about hemmoraghing memory all of a sudden and I constantly struggle to keep my head above water at 1-2gb with a 32gb phone. It's very possible that I had either lost a connection when it tried to update, however, i do not recall trying to update my phone a couple weeks ago. The Galaxy Note5 will have the same fate. Today the phones have started receiving the September 2018 security patch, which will be their last. Clearly I'm not up to date, nor can I continue the update and get my 7.0.1 software. Back in April Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 family would be taken off the monthly security update list, only the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge+ to be brought back the very next day. However, I was unaware that AT&T rolled out 7.0.1 right before Christmas.
5- Now, Samsung Smart Switch will recognize your connected device And check if there is a Software update available for it. 4- If a pop-up appears on your Samsung device, Then tap Allow. 3- Connect the Samsung Device to your computer using its USB cable. So, I check for updates and apparently I'm up to date with my AT&T 7.0 software. 2- Double click on the Samsung Smart Switch shortcut to run the software. I go into it and I have an option for "continue to update" and "check for updates", of course. So, in the midst of all the other issues I'm having with this phone, whilst tinkering, I noticed that my phone is telling me I have an update available via the little exclamation point above my software update icon in Settings. I've tried looking for this answer, and I can not find a post that relates to my situation specifically.
